Welcome to John Marshall Sound
Our services include:
-Long-form narration (audio books) recording
We're known as having some of the quietest, best sounding rooms in the world for voice recording. Our dedicated editing and post-production department makes sure things transition from recording to post smoothly. Because our computers are networked, multiple editors can work on a single program simultaneously. This is particularly useful when publisher deadlines demand rapid delivery. After editing, the project undergoes our in house Quality Control, which is key to ensuring the program is delivered precisely according to client expectations. This is how John Marshall Sound delivers a top quality audio program, on time, every time. Our efficient workflow, attention to detail and fast turnaround are why major publishers the world over trust us to produce so many of their audio titles.

-Educational audio program production
Paul Ruben Productions, our in-house production company, has years of experience producing ESL and foreign language educational audio programs for major publishers worldwide.
Focusing in on each individual script to make sure the project is cast correctly is the most important step in deciding the 'feel' of the project. Then after selecting the cast, the actors are scheduled using our unique “Movie-Style Scheduling” system, which enables the time the actors spend in-studio to be maximized, allowing the budget to remain as low as possible.
Once in the studio, the Director focuses on ensuring that all of our preparation in pre-production remains on track and that the recording process remains consistent with the organizational vision. For example, is the dialog too fast or too slow? Are the actors imbuing the scene with the energy and interpretation needed to make it the listening/learning experience envisioned by the publisher? And so on. The Engineer focuses on making certain the sound quality is optimal and that the script is properly marked to smoothly transition to a speedy and accurate post production process. The audio may then be moved to our state-of-the art audio server, or mastered according to the publisher’s specifications.

-Podcast production and remote recording
29% of Americans listen to podcasts, and the number is growing exponentially worldwide. A poorly recorded and edited podcast is a surefire way to lose the listener's attention and do your company's brand a disservice. We have experience producing and recording podcasts in-house and on location, and our editing department makes sure the final product flows from start to finish. Our extensive library of licence-free music adds the final touch to every podcast production.

-Audio for multimedia
There are 100 million game capable mobile phones currently in the marketplace. Advertising in games is expected to rise to $1.9 billion in 2009, according to eMarketer. A widening audience, especially women and older gamers, are two major factors fueling the interest in advertising on this medium.
We have years of experience recording and mixing audio and dialogue for video games, websites, Flash animations, interactive CD-ROMs, Powerpoint presentations and more. Our editing department is familiar with the often complex file delivery formats and naming conventions used for this type of audio, and has custom workflow techniques to ensure that the finished audio sounds great and is labled correctly for direct insertion into your final application.
